Filipino Nurse: 10 Things You Probably Want to Pack For Your Flight to UK

Image
Packing for your flight can be stressful at times. It can be a bit overwhelming to think on what things you need to leave behind vs the things you need to bring. Assuming that you have already packed the essentials like your clothes, shoes, documents, passport etc, I will share a short list that you might want to consider including in your luggage in preparation for your flight to the United Kingdom. 10 Things You Probably Want to Pack for Your Flight to UK: 1. In most household loos in the UK though, you can only find tissue paper! No bidets, no whatsoever. So... if you know what I mean,  just pack a "tabo" and you'll thank me later.  2. Three- Pin- Plug Adapters  - In the Philippines, we normally use Type A plug, which has 2 flat parallel pins. In the UK we use Type G plugs, it has three rectangular p

If you are a filipino nurse under UK Tier 2 Dependent Visa / Health and Care Visa, and wants to bring your partner to the UK,  or If you wish to join your partner who works as a nurse in the UK, then this blog post might be helpful for you. My partner (we are not married) have just recently received his dependent partner visa and is now preparing for his flight to UK. I would like to share as much information as I can on how we prepared for the visa processing. Hello 2022!

RECAP. Where did all the time go? Sounds cliché. But, seriously... I can't help but wonder what happened to my 2021. What did I achieve? What were my regrets? What mistakes did I make? Wait, what's my new year's resolution? Those questions kept on repeating in my head a few hours before the new year is about to start. I had some serious reflection and I realised that I am one lucky and blessed girl. My 2021 was okay, not that bad. Despite me being positive for Covid in the last part of the year and had an untimely home quarantine before and during Christmas. It's safe to say that I still wrapped up the year with more good stories to share. Also, who else in the UK still not got the virus at some point? LOL. It's just sometimes crazy how the pandemic is starting to become not scary at all. Anyways...  Every time new year starts, I always find myself asking: What am I grateful for? To answer that, I have thought about the most significant things that happened to me i

Chase What Matters

W orking in a healthcare setting is fulfilling. Being a nurse is my profession, my calling. However, there were so many things I missed working in the office environment. Events, Auxes, Parties, Rewards and Recognitions, the job itself to name a few. Leaving the corporate world after more than five years of being part of it, was one of the huge decisions I made, and the most significant.  All the acquaintances, the friends I have gained, the mistakes and lessons, the experience as a whole has made a massive impact in my life and made me the person that I am right now. I would never trade it for anything in the world.  Looking back, I was lucky to be part of the most productive, diverse, talent-driven and goal-centric company. I have grown so much without me knowing through the years of working in the business. I have never considered myself as the most active employee in company events and activities, but browsing through some old pics - I guess somehow I had pretty much more overrides
