Filipino Nurse: 10 Things You Probably Want to Pack For Your Flight to UK

Packing for your flight can be stressful at times. It can be a bit overwhelming to think on what things you need to leave behind vs the things you need to bring. Assuming that you have already packed the essentials like your clothes, shoes, documents, passport etc, I will share a short list that you might want to consider including in your luggage in preparation for your flight to the United Kingdom.

10 Things You Probably Want to Pack for Your Flight to UK:

1. Dipper "Tabo" - Using a dipper or a "tabo" is very common to us filipinos when we do our business in the toilet, that is if bidets are not available. In most household loos in the UK though, you can only find tissue paper! No bidets, no whatsoever. So... if you know what I mean,  just pack a "tabo" and you'll thank me later.

2. Three- Pin- Plug Adapters - In the Philippines, we normally use Type A plug, which has 2 flat parallel pins. In the UK we use Type G plugs, it has three rectangular pins that forms a triangular pattern. Make sure to bring one or two so you can charge your gadgets without any problem.

3. Medication - Don't forget your maintenance medication and your updated prescriptions too (If you have any). You might also want to consider bringing over-the-counter medications from home. If you prefer brands like Bioflu, Kremil-S, Biogesic or Diatabs, they are not very common brands here in the UK, so you might wanna add that to your To-Bring-List.

4. Filipino Snack - Just in case you want to come prepared for your craving needs. There are some filipino stores that sell our favourite snacks from home, though it may not always available and you will be paying in £££. So, better yet have some Stick-O, Boy Bawang, FlatTops, DingDong or any fave filipino snacks in your luggage too!

5. Filipino Condiments - Bring Ginisa Mix! Just do it.

6. Security "Kulambo" - Fo those that can't sleep without your "kulambo" rubbing your feet, then this is self explanatory. Just bring a portion enough to do the job, though. Not the whole thing!

7. Essential Oils - Pack a bottle of Efficascent Oil, Pau, Creations Pain Relief Rub or even White Flower, whichever you use. Back pain is real for nurses, so any of these can be handy when situation calls.

8. Eden Cheese - I have tried a number of cheese here in the UK, but Eden Cheese just taste different. If you're into Eden too, then you know what to do!

9. Pen - The most common brand of pens here in the UK is BIC. FaberCastell and Pilot G-Tech pens are difficult to find, there are some online but a bit pricey. If you are also into pens, bring your favourite brands. Pens from home as "pasalubong" is not a bad idea too!

10. Skin Care - Bring your favourite skin care brands from PH, and some Kojic soap too (If you use them

Also:

We normally can't buy contact lenses here in the UK without an eye check up (which you need to book) from the optical clinic. So, you might want to add some contact lens on your To-Bring-List just so you have something to use until you have your proper eye check up here in the UK.

Don't worry, It is easy to buy contact lens here (online or at store) as long as you have already been seen by the optician.
