Is Winter Depression True?

Image
Do you also feel a 'little down' during winter?  Guess what, you are actually not the only one. I've heard stories about number of people feeling emotionally low during colder season. Statistically, suicide rates are also higher during these times based on research, but let's not get to that part 'cause it's way too morbid. The point is, more people become unusually sad during winter. Are there studies to support this claim?  I originally came from a country that only has dry and wet season all throughout the year. So, these are something that doesn't interest me before. In United Kingdom, winter begins December and ends in March. Normally, I am not fascinated by topics of depression and feeling low. However, I felt like I was being more emotional about anything, to the point that I think I am already being irrational. In times, I find myself crying for no apparent reason. I am not always a 'softy' type. I've been away from home most of my adul

Island Living: Isle of Wight

Image
Welcome to the Island 🏝 Ryde Pier Head Railway Station Flashback two years ago, I remember I was given an option to choose which part of the UK to submit my job application to. I had a choice to be assigned in the mainland and an option to work in the Isle of Wight. I love beaches and prefer tranquil places so I obviously chose the latter. And location-wise, it was still one of the best decisions I made.  Isle of Wight is located in the south coast of England. The island is known for its beautiful beaches, rich history, and it's favorable climate. It is one of the favorite holiday destination in the country. The people in the island are especially warm and welcoming. Everywhere you look is a picturesque view. The transport system is simple and easy, not to mention cheaper than other parts of England. You can travel efficiently by any form of land transportation around the area and there's no trouble of heavy traffic. The island is a three hour journey away from London- via bus

My Journey from BPO to PHRN to UKRN

Road to become a UK Nurse Making UK dream happen, everyone has their own story. The struggles they had, the bittersweet experiences along the way, their success on how they made it and everything in between. Some are lucky enough to have a smooth and easy application while others had hiccups along the way. May it be financially, time-restraint, gaps, lack of drive to continue the process, doubts, relationships, health issues and other personal reasons.  As what they say, each one of us has our own unique timeline and life is not a race. As long as we persevere, set our mind to the goal, and work for it - we will get there!  Mine is a unique case too. I'd like to share my journey in a simplest way possible. Just a brief background, I graduated nursing March 2010, passed our local board exam July of thesame year, and I never worked in any hospital until 2019! No healthcare-related jobs at all. That was nine-long-years of gap! I worked in a BPO company since then until February of 201

Hello 2021. Hello New Blog.

Can we talk about something else other than the virus? Hmm..  First dose of Covid-19 Vaccine on Jan 08, 2021 So I found myself starting a new blog. I actually had one before but I couldn't retrieve it anymore. Anyways, I got many time to spare now and I feel like creating a new page. It's been so long since the last time I wrote something, so please bear with me. :) As we all know, the world is going crazy and still has not recovered from the pandemic which Corona virus has caused. I am directly affected by this, reason why I got plenty of time to write --- I'm currently on my 9th day of Self-Isolation.   Since I arrived here in the UK (March 2020), I had been under isolation 3 times already! So this is the third time that I'm under 'house arrest'. Unfortunately, one of my housemates got the virus. Lucky for her though, even if she's symptomatic, she is doing quite well in fighting Covid-19! She will overcome this challenge and come out stronger after this,
